Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:

    • Conduct diagnostic tests and assist with various neurological diagnostic tests and procedures, such as electroencephalograms (EEG), nerve conduction studies, electromyograms (EMG), and autonomic testing.
    • Prepare patients for neurological tests, explain procedures, and provide instructions to ensure their comfort and cooperation.
    • Assist during procedures by providing support to neurologists, helping with patient positioning, equipment setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Patient Education and Support:

    • Assess patient educational needs and interact with relevant staff to facilitate requirements.
    • Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions, diagnostic tests, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
    • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families during challenging times, ensuring they understand discharge instructions and follow-up care.
  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Accurately record test results, patient information, and other relevant data in electronic medical records (EMR).
    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding patient documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Safety and Infection Control:

    • Maintain neurology equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
    • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and implement safety measures to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
    • Identify and report defective or broken equipment and safety hazards.
  • Professional Development:

    • Stay informed about advancements in neurology technology, diagnostic techniques, and treatment options through ongoing training and professional development activities.
