Position

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Technician for testing, sample preparation, and the delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports. Ideal candidates should have considerable experience in construction material testing, particularly from a commercial test house or contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure personal responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with the Element - Middle East & Asia-Pacific Laboratory Management System and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests and analyses, monitoring, sampling, or machining as per authorized technical competence.
  • Maintain logs and registries in Excel and Word, generate reports or worksheets using MS Office.
  • Uphold laboratory housekeeping standards and report any equipment malfunctions immediately to management.
  • Keep accurate records of technical work and maintain equipment as scheduled.
  • Complete administrative tasks promptly and report unreliable or inaccurate data to management.
  • Assist in testing and analyzing non-routine samples as directed.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures, participate in hazard identification and risk assessments, and monitor safety in the work section.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in a science-related subject is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and sample logging.
  • Effective communication skills for client interaction during on-site activities.
  • Adherence to laboratory quality practices regarding calibrated equipment, documentation, and test request procedures.
  • Experience with external audits by accreditation bodies is highly preferred.
  • Ability to assign tasks to assistant technicians for sample preparation and curing activities.
