We are looking for a hands-on Technology Engineer to join our Group IT Technology Chapter and support the design, build, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology platforms. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Cloudera CDP, automation, DevOps, containerization, and platform operations experience who enjoys working in complex, high-availability environments. The successful candidate will work within a matrix structure, reporting into the VP Technology Chapter while being assigned to a platform squad for day-to-day delivery, backlog prioritization, and technical execution. You will help onboard customers and applications to modern platforms through self-service, automation, and close collaboration with platform, product, security, architecture, data, and agile teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and support Cloudera CDP platforms, including CDP 7.1.9 or later and Cloudera Data Services versions 1.5.4 and 1.5.5.
- Provide hands-on Tier 2 production support for Cloudera environments, including platform maintenance, security enablement, observability, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot Spark, Hive, and YARN jobs, working closely with data engineering teams to improve Spark job performance.
- Drive automation across platform operations, including security and regulatory checks, automated patching, infrastructure workflows, and CI/CD pipelines for data and analytics projects.
- Develop automation using Shell, Terraform, Groovy, Ansible, and preferably Python-based workflows.
- Support containerization and container management using Podman, Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
- Contribute to product roadmaps, platform backlog execution, technology stack reduction, and total cost of ownership improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across technical platforms, security, architecture, data, agile, infrastructure, application, and product teams.
- Apply Agile, DevOps, and product management practices to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure technology services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 2 years of total engineering or operational experience, including at least 1 year in a similar technology engineering or platform operations role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cloudera CDP platform operations, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Experience in infrastructure, systems administration, design, and engineering, with a focus on cloud computing, DevOps, and automation.
- Good understanding of Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals, source control using Git, and Agile engineering practices.
- Experience working in large, complex, high-availability enterprise environments with demanding transaction volumes and geographically distributed systems.
- Understanding of technical risk, information security, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements within enterprise technology environments.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term platform objectives with practical delivery needs.
