The company is a prominent financial services provider in the MENAT region, operating in 13 countries and serving over 9 million customers. The organization emphasizes supporting its clients in achieving their financial objectives through a broad spectrum of banking services, including retail, corporate, Islamic, investment, and private banking, as well as asset management and digital banking solutions.
In line with the UAE Government’s initiative to empower and develop nationals, the company is seeking a Technology Engineer to enhance its Group IT Technology Chapter. This role involves designing, building, operating, and continuously improving enterprise technology platforms, specifically focusing on Cloudera CDP, automation, DevOps, containerization, and platform operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Cloudera CDP platforms, providing hands-on Tier 2 production support.
- Troubleshoot Spark, Hive, and YARN jobs and collaborate closely with data engineering teams.
- Drive automation across platform operations using various tools and languages (Shell, Terraform, Groovy, Ansible, Python).
- Support containerization and management using tools like Podman, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders while applying Agile, DevOps, and product management practices.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of engineering or operational experience, with at least 1 year in a technology engineering role. Strong hands-on experience with Cloudera CDP platform operations is essential.
- Key Technologies: Cloudera CDP, Spark, Hive, YARN, automation tools, container management tools, Linux, etc.
- Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance in high-availability environments, strategic mindset, and clear communication of technical concepts.
Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is typically expected; additional language skills may be an advantage in the MENAT region.
