Telecom Technician

This position involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecom systems in oil & gas facilities. Key responsibilities include performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on communication equipment, handling installation and termination of fiber optic and copper cables, and maintaining various systems such as CCTV, PAGA, telephony, radio communication, LAN/WAN networks, access control, and structured cabling. The role also requires conducting loop checks, signal testing, and system commissioning activities, as well as reading and interpreting telecom drawings and schematics to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Coordination with engineers and supervisors during shutdowns and projects is essential, alongside troubleshooting communication system faults and executing repairs with minimal downtime. Additionally, maintaining records of maintenance activities and inspection reports, supporting commissioning activities, and adhering to HSE procedures on-site are critical.

Qualifications for this role include a Diploma/ITI or Technical Certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related technical field, along with a minimum of 3–5 years experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or industrial projects, specifically in onshore settings. Familiarity with industrial telecom systems and hazardous environments is preferred.
