Teller - Floater

About the Role:
The Teller - Floater position focuses on delivering high-quality teller services to customers through accurate and efficient transaction processing. This role not only emphasizes operational excellence but also projects a professional image in all interpersonal dealings.

Key Accountabilities of the Role:

• Processing all teller counter service transactions, including cash deposits and withdrawals, drafts, telegraphic transfers, payment orders, standing orders, foreign currency purchases and sales, cheque deposits, etc. in accordance with operational policies and within agreed time frames.
• Liaising with the Treasury department for best rates on centralized telegraphic transfers for VIP and high net worth customers in coordination with Heads of Departments.
• Serving Private Banking customers at dedicated counters and processing additional service transactions introduced by the institution over time.
• Identifying and referring product inquiries from prospective customers to Sales staff for cross-selling opportunities.
• Performing general reconciliation and control activities, including:
  • Acting as one of the dual custodians for branch vault cash and security stationery
  • Assisting the Head of Operations as the second custodian for dual control
  • Conducting cash reconciliation and balancing
  • Performing end-of-day balancing and general filing
• Being prepared to cover different branches in the area as needed, demonstrating the high skill set required to meet network logistics and volume demands.
• Ensuring a proper understanding and processing of all centralized activities as outlined by the Branch Operations Centralization Projects.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this Role:

• General knowledge of the institution's Institutional & Retail Banking products and services
• Understanding of operational policies and procedures
• Knowledge of UAE banking practices, regulations, and risks
• Familiarity with regulations issued by the Central Bank of the UAE
• Awareness of competitors in the local market
• Understanding of service standards
• Competent computer skills
