The Test Engineer is responsible for execution and contribution to the design of all the remote sensing solutions that apply to tests at the Test Range and off-site test activities involving the use of radars (tracking and surveillance), flight termination systems, and telemetry.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with the client to design the optimum test that requires the application of tracking radars, flight termination, and telemetry.
  • Collaborate with relevant test technicians to set up requested test systems for the relevant flight tests.
  • Contribute to the production of test procedures that remote sensing technicians can follow to capture data at the relevant test.
  • Prepare test reports and data to be inserted into these reports for the relevant test.
  • Ensure that the remote sensing test equipment is used according to Range documentation.
  • Contribute to maintaining a technology watch to ensure that the equipment is being used optimally and that new equipment is planned for as required.
  • Search for new opportunities to improve productivity and safety.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering (or related field or equivalent experience).
  • 0-3 years of working experience in a similar field.
  • Experience in producing technical reports.
  • Interest in working on test and evaluation ranges.
  • Interest in working with military and defense equipment clients.
  • Knowledge of Radar and Telemetry technology.
  • Ability to set up and operate radars, telemetry, and flight termination equipment.
  • Ability to write clear and concise documents.
  • Flexible approach to work – ad hoc shifts or on customer sites as and when required.
