REMAYA operates a secure test and evaluation facility, known as XRANGE. From its secure island setting, XRANGE provides over 350km2 of test range area as well as up to 10,000ft of airspace to assess platforms and systems in operationally realistic conditions and scenarios. Open all year around to both UAE and International clients and supported by dedicated infrastructure, advanced instrumentation and data capture systems, it is a unique testing environment in the heart of the Middle East. Our expert engineering teams support our clients with trials planning and advisory services across their product lifecycle, from concept to in service upgrades. REMAYA also deploys mobile instrumentation and support services directly to our clients, providing mobile test and evaluation range support both in the UAE and Globally.
The Test Technician, Remote Sensing is responsible for the setup and execution of all the remote sensing solutions that apply to tests that take place at the Abu Al Abyad Test Range and off-site test activities involving the use of radars (tracking and surveillance), flight termination system and telemetry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the assigned test engineers and team lead for conducting test that require the application of tracking radars, flight termination and telemetry.
- Set up and operate the requested test system for the relevant flight tests
- Feedback to test procedures to improve the test safety and reliability
- Prepares the raw data to be used in test reports.
- Ensure that the relevant test equipment is used according to Range documentation
- Search for new opportunities to improve the productivity and safety of his/her area of expertise.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Electrical or Electromechanical field
- Experience on assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment
- Basic knowledge of MS. Office software
- Flexible approach to work – willing to work overtime, ad hoc shifts or on customer sites as and when required.
- Arabic speaker
- Interest of working with military and defence equipment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of radar and telemetry technology
- Understanding to set up and operate radars, telemetry and flight termination equipment
- Interest of working on test and evaluation range
