About the Role
As a Trading Assistant within the Fixed Income trading pod, you will play a vital role in capturing traded risk accurately across a broad Fixed Income product universe and supporting the team in its transition to an independent fund. You will work closely with Portfolio Managers, sales teams, and brokers while partnering with Middle Office, Operations, Technology, and Business Management to ensure timely and accurate trade processing. Your contributions will be crucial in building a scalable support infrastructure and enhancing trading efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Capture traded risk accurately in booking systems across a broad Fixed Income product universe, including swaps, bonds, FX, inflation, rates volatility derivatives, futures, and options.
- Serve as a key point of contact between Portfolio Managers and sales teams or brokers to agree on trade details and resolve trade-related issues.
- Partner closely with Middle Office, Operations, Technology, and Business Management to support timely, accurate trade processing and issue resolution.
- Monitor and improve trading book efficiency, including FX cash balance cleanups, inter-strategy clean transfers, trade lifecycle management, and unwind package execution.
- Identify, develop, and deliver tactical process enhancements that create value for the team and individual Portfolio Managers.
- Provide backup trade execution support for the Portfolio Manager team.
- Deliver responsive, front-line trading support as the team prepares for its transition to an independent fund.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a trade assistant or trading desk support role.
- Strong interest in Fixed Income and derivatives markets; relevant experience is preferred.
- Genuine motivation to learn and support a broad range of traded products, trading styles, and Portfolio Managers.
- A proactive approach to challenging and improving established processes, tasks, and operating models.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Adaptability and openness to expanding the scope of the role as the business evolves.
- Familiarity with AI tools or large language models, and technical coding ability, are advantageous.
