As a Trainee Software Application Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of reports for our software suite. You will engage with an international customer base within a dynamic and highly motivated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill customer business needs by creating highly customized reports.
- Elaborate on stakeholder requirements, considering the overall product architecture.
- Design, implement, and test assigned reports; integrate with components developed by other team members.
- Assist sales and project teams with effort estimates for new reports and enhancements.
- Actively resolve issues during various development phases.
- Create proof of concepts (PoCs) to validate design assumptions.
- Contribute to software development process improvement activities.
- Present solution designs and adapt them based on stakeholder input during workshops.
- Report progress to management in a structured way.
- Create technical documentation for project management, customers, and suppliers.
- Conduct customer training, either in-person or virtually.
Job Requirements:
- Technical university degree or comparable training (Computer Science).
- Several years of experience in developing reports using SAP Business Intelligence (BI) for Analytics (SAP BO).
- Familiarity with RDBMS technologies (Oracle, MS SQL) and proficiency in database queries, views, and scripting.
- Strong skills in object-oriented analysis, design, and development.
- Good troubleshooting and debugging skills with distributed multi-tier applications.
- Certification in Web Intelligence for Business Intelligence (BI) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a dedication to delivering high-quality software.
- Experience in SAP BO Administration and Report Development Tools (SAP Business Objects required; BIRT is a nice to have).
- Comfortable using version control and defect management tools (e.g., TFS DevOps).
- Strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to coordinate well within a team while working independently towards common goals.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the organization, with a readiness for international travel.
