The GIS Troubleshooting Specialist is responsible for overseeing all activities required to install, repair, and eliminate faults in Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) systems. How You’ll Make An Impact:
- Ensure installation work is carried out in perfect technical order.
- Perform installation and maintenance work independently.
- Ensure compliance with installation requirements and observe accident prevention measures, particularly on live system components.
- Manage changes or modifications required during installation by red-marking drawings/documents.
- Advise sub-suppliers' installation superintendents on workforce planning and coordination.
- Collaborate with the Hitachi Energy Project Manager to assess the status of completed and non-completed work.
- Inspect incoming materials for completeness and damage, coordinating material handling with sub-suppliers.
- Issue non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment in cooperation with the Hitachi Energy Project Manager.
- Supervise final installation tests and completion documentation.
- Oversee and coordinate loop check activities.
- Participate in site meetings as requested by the Hitachi Energy Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years’ experience with GIS systems.
- Hands-on experience with SF6 gas handling.
- Familiarity with Hitachi Energy GIS products.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
