About the Role
The Aviation Maintenance Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) Technical Inspector plays a critical role within the organization, operating under the direction of the QC Manager. This position is responsible for the sign-off of all red ‘X’ and circle red ‘X’ conditions related to aircraft systems and components. The Technical Inspector will engage in the technical inspection of specific airframe, powertrain, power-plant, armament, electrical, and avionics systems. Responsibilities also include evaluating the need for Maintenance Test Flights (MTF) and Maintenance Operational Checks (MOC), as well as providing inspection criteria interpretation to the maintenance staff. This role involves utilizing common measuring tools, precision measuring gauges, and alignment fixtures. The Technical Inspector assists in maintaining a current technical library and relevant aircraft forms and records, collaborates with the Customer Weight and Balance (W&B) technician to complete Weight and Balance records, and assumes the role of the site QC Data Analyst and technical/compliance documentation administrator. By establishing maintenance quality control processes, procedures, standards, measures, and reports, this position supports all maintenance support activities while prioritizing safety in all operations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality technical inspection of aircraft, equipment, vehicles, aircraft components, parts, and systems, including avionics, electrical, instrument and armament as required by functional assignment.
  • Conducts quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tools used in aircraft maintenance, vehicles, and other equipment.
  • Executes in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft and components.
  • Inspects job procedural forms and maintenance forms used in aircraft maintenance to ensure compliance with approved methods and procedures.
  • Assists with the preparation, processing, and answering of Quality Deficiency Reports (QDRs) and support aircraft accident investigations, preparing estimated cost of damage reports as necessary.
  • Establishes maintenance quality control processes, procedures, standards, measures, and reports in support of the maintenance program in coordination with Supply Chain Management (SCM) activities.
  • Directs inquiries, investigations, and research analysis related to quality control maintenance processes to the QC Manager.
  • Ensures all quality control maintenance operations and related maintenance support activities are conducted safely.
  • Supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) processes and procedures in coordination with the QC Manager.
  • Conducts maintenance training and technical inspector training as necessary.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by the QC Manager.
  • Operates within maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards, ensuring that all maintenance operations and related support activities prioritize safety.
  • Functions within broad guidelines with significant autonomy in selecting and implementing goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher required due to visa requirements.
  • All candidates must successfully complete the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s Qualification Verification Program (QVP) as a condition of employment in Saudi Arabia.
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Inspector Authorization (IA) certificate.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience maintaining specific or similar Mission Design Series (MDS).
  • Proficient in the use of the Automated Weight and Balance Software (AWBS).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in rotary wing Aviation operations, including maintenance, Aviation logistics, flight operations, and training.
  • Certificates: Army Aviation maintenance certification with a rating in the AH-64, UH-60, or MD500 Series Aircraft (Army Rotary Wing equivalent) or OH-58D is desired.
  • FAA A&P certificate or equivalent is required.
  • Comfort with computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other related documentation.
  • Graduate of a US Military Aircraft Maintenance Course or civilian A&P equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and Passport.
  • DD214 required for military experience.
  • Must pass employment and deployment qualification requirements including medical, drug testing, background checks, etc.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a military maintenance unit.
  • Strong knowledge of military logistics procedures and regulations.
