the company is looking for a VP, Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), to join its Regulatory and Compliance team to oversee the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) and Counter-Proliferation Financing (CPF) framework in the United Arab Emirates. The VP, MLRO will serve as a financial crime compliance leader responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective, risk-based AML program aligned with the company’s UAE activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the UAE AML/CFT/CPF compliance framework and ensure alignment with applicable UAE laws, regulations, and global standards.
  • Act as primary contact for applicable UAE regulators and the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit.
  • Oversee the investigation, escalation and reporting of suspicious activity in association with relevant investigations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and lead implementation of enhancements to the firm UAE framework.
  • Review EMEA distributor agreements to ensure compliance with UAE requirements.
  • Serve as the primary AML contact with the company Middle East Client Solutions team.

Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of alternatives experience, preferably with private funds and registered investment advisor experience in the UAE and Middle East.
  • Experience in fund structuring and formation, reviewing governing documents for alternative and registered funds.
  • AML/KYC expertise of regulatory requirements for private fund investors and distributors in EMEA.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and strong ability for personal interaction.
  • Professionalism both client-facing and internally.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a continuous learning mindset.
  • Self-motivated with robust project management and process development skills.
  • JD a plus, but not required.
