We are hiring a UX Designer for Infrastructure to collaborate with the exceptional engineering teams at the company. This role involves creating open-source tools for building clouds and managing clusters of compute globally. Our design team aims to transform complex open-source software into efficient, intuitive products that redefine what open source can achieve for enterprise IT.

Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote, with international travel required twice a year for company events (up to two weeks long)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build tools that enable users to create their own cloud experiences (MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud, the company's k8s)
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to help shape the future of the Data Center and self-sovereign clouds
  • Support complex products with design and UX heuristics
  • Evolve and promote design systems for consistency and efficiency
  • Understand the broader impact of work and its interconnected constraints
  • Support working groups to enable horizontal design efforts

Candidate Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Bachelor's or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or STEM, or relevant experience
  • Passion for user experience, technology, and design
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Result-oriented with a drive to complete tasks and celebrate success
  • Confidence in user research practices
  • Engagement with the latest design research and innovation
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineers, designers, and executives
