About the Role:
This role requires proactive client relationship management for a portfolio of asset managers, endowments, and single and multi-family offices that invest in a multi-asset book of business. As the Vice President of Institutional Services, you will be responsible for understanding and meeting client needs by ensuring service deliverables are met in a timely manner. Relationship-building with clients and collaboration with internal and external teams are critical to ensuring optimal service levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish professional relationships with clients and other key internal/external parties as required.
  • Drive strategic communication with clients and negotiate service level agreements (SLA).
  • Understand and communicate clients’ requests with various business functions, operational, and support teams to promote effective internal communication.
  • Develop a broad understanding of business lines and associated product/service propositions.
  • Understand the industry and regulatory environment, being sensitive to changes and trends that can identify new areas of growth.
  • Participate and assist with RFP documentation completion and facilitate presentations and demos to prospective clients.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of multi-asset portfolios, including fund investments.
  • Have a good grasp of various technology platforms or demonstrate the ability to learn quickly.
  • Be familiar with the duties and workflow of the various functional groups involved in providing administration for multi-asset portfolios.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships by cross-selling additional products and services; drive the coordination of new client integrations and existing client launches.
  • Participate in and lead projects related to the ongoing evolution of the business.
  • Monitor and manage client SLAs and operational deliverables.
  • Review client profitability and accounts receivables and address negative trends as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to identify opportunities for process improvements and system development aimed at minimizing operational risk and improving efficiencies.
  • Review risk logs and support, coordinate, and communicate incident resolution as necessary.
  • Lead operational due diligence reviews and client visits.
  • Compile periodic board reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and scorecards for clients; carry out periodic risk assessments and peer reviews of clients.
  • Actively maintain client status, commentary, and updates in internal CRM tools.
  • Provide training and supervision to Managers on the Client Services team.

About You:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline with 7+ years of related work experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a hedge fund administrator and/or investment company.
  • 2+ years of formal people management/leadership experience.
  • Proven interest in the financial markets and hedge fund industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience coupled with superior communication skills.
  • Highly analytical with strong attributes on business processes, accounting, and allocation systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel and PowerPoint) and Outlook.
