Position

The Vice President – Cluster PMO is responsible for leading portfolio governance and strategic delivery across the Cluster, ensuring that entity portfolios, major programmes and critical business priorities are aligned to Cluster objectives and executed with appropriate oversight and discipline. This role provides Cluster leadership with an integrated view of portfolio performance, priorities, risks, dependencies and delivery confidence, enabling timely decision-making and intervention where required. Working across multiple entities and senior stakeholders, the VP – Cluster PMO drives consistency in governance, strengthens accountability for execution and ensures that Cluster-wide priorities and commitments are effectively translated into delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of the combined portfolio across all Cluster entities.
  • Ensure priorities are aligned to Cluster objectives and appropriately sequenced against available capacity and resources.
  • Provide senior oversight of major programmes and initiatives to ensure progress against agreed outcomes and commitments.
  • Drive timely resolution of significant delivery issues, risks and dependencies.
  • Set and maintain effective governance and performance management across the Cluster portfolio.
  • Ensure consistent visibility, accountability and reporting across entities and programmes.
  • Provide Cluster leadership with clear, consolidated insight on portfolio performance, risks, priorities and areas requiring intervention.
  • Support informed decision-making through timely analysis, challenge and recommendations.
  • Drive coordination across entities and functions where priorities, programmes or dependencies span organisational boundaries.
  • Strengthen PMO capability, standards and ways of working across the Cluster.
  • Drive continuous improvement in portfolio discipline, reporting quality and programme management maturity.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project/Programme Management, Strategy, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within defence, technology, engineering, government or another highly regulated/programme-intensive sector; experience operating at Group or enterprise level.
  • 15+ years’ experience across programme management, portfolio management, PMO, strategy execution or transformation, including significant senior leadership experience in a complex, multi-entity environment.
  • Recognised project or programme management certification such as PMP, MSP, PgMP or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
  • Portfolio management, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, change management or strategy execution certification.
