Working from production briefs under the direction of the Multimedia and Brand Production Manager, the Video Content Producer manages video projects from creative concept through to final delivery, contributes actively to pre-production planning, and serves as the team’s primary owner of motion graphics and 2D animation. This position requires a strong editorial sensibility, precise technical craft, and the discipline to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Occasional out-of-office hours work may be required, for which overtime will be paid.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Production
- Review and analyze production briefs and participate in briefing sessions with relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to storyboards, editorial structures, mood boards, and creative references.
- Identify and retrieve suitable archival footage and licensed media assets.
- Coordinate with production teams regarding shoot requirements, technical specifications, and footage handover.
Editing and Post-Production
- Edit and produce video content including documentaries, interviews, promotional videos, research communications, and social media content.
- Apply transitions, motion graphics, visual effects, and animations.
- Produce 2D motion graphics and animated sequences.
- Perform professional color correction and grading.
- Mix and master audio, including music, voice-over, dialogue, and ambient sound.
- Prepare final video projects in appropriate formats for web, social media, YouTube, LED screens, and other channels.
- Manage multiple editing projects while maintaining quality and meeting delivery deadlines.
Project Management and Stakeholder Coordination
- Manage assigned video projects from creative concept through final delivery.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding project requirements and timelines.
- Provide creative guidance and constructive feedback on video requirements.
- Maintain project schedules and proactively identify delivery or resourcing risks.
Asset Management and Workflow
- Upload and organize production assets within defined timelines.
- Apply proper metadata, tags, and naming conventions.
- Maintain organized project files, footage, and finished assets within servers and DAM systems.
- Track production activities, tasks, edit notes, comments, and deliverables using Asana or equivalent project management tools.
- Maintain editing workstations and software and report technical or licensing issues when required.
Creative Contribution
- Participate in creative planning sessions and contribute editorial and motion graphics ideas.
- Stay updated with emerging trends, techniques, and tools in video editing and post-production.
- Actively contribute to the editorial quality and visual impact of final productions.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Film-making, Media Production, or a related discipline.
- Additional training or certification in color grading, motion graphics, or post-production workflows is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Video Editor within a large organization or creative agency.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating editorial range and high-quality post-production work.
- Demonstrated experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
- Proven experience in Adobe After Effects, including 2D animation and typographic sequences.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working under tight deadlines.
- Experience in institutional, corporate, or higher education video production is desirable.
- Experience with 3D animation software such as Cinema 4D or Blender is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Avid Media Composer is desirable.
- Experience working alongside or directing camera operators during location productions is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
- Strong knowledge of color science, color grading workflows, and LUT management.
- Competence in audio mixing and sound design.
- Knowledge of video/audio formats, codecs, and multi-platform delivery specifications.
- Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and metadata standards.
- Experience using Asana or equivalent project management tools.
- High IT literacy across Windows and macOS environments.
Additional Requirements
- A portfolio or showreel of previous video editing work is required.
- Ability to work outside regular office hours when production schedules require it.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
