VP Data - Breakout Prop

The Breakout Prop team is a crypto-native proprietary trading platform supported by the company. We focus on deep liquidity, cutting-edge technology, and world-class risk management. As the VP of Data, you will report directly to the COO and evolve the data function into a mature capability that matches our growth stage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the data function and scale it according to Breakout's growth
• Elevate data maturity across the business, ensuring reliable and scalable data platforms
• Grow and lead the data team, mentoring and setting standards
• Establish data governance and quality standards company-wide
• Build data products for AI integration and enhance analytics capabilities
• Collaborate with product, finance, ops, and growth teams to embed data into strategic decisions

Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data infrastructure roles
• Expert-level SQL and data manipulation skills using big data frameworks
• Proficiency in data warehousing technologies and best practices
• Experience designing and operating data pipelines and ETL workflows
• Strong Python skills; familiarity with streaming technologies is a plus
• Proven track record in leading and growing data teams
• Experience in high-growth startups or regulated industries

Language Requirements:
Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus, given our diverse team.
