VP & Head of Market Risk Oversight

Market Risk Oversight is a function within the Market Risk Management department, responsible for the measurement, monitoring, control, and reporting of the market risk exposures arising from Global Markets & Group Treasury activities. The VP & Head – Market Risk Oversight will develop and maintain this function, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies while ensuring that businesses operate within the Risk Appetite approved by the board and overseeing the implementation of risk management controls through deep market risk analysis of the company's profile.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a robust Market Risk Oversight function ensuring all open market risks are adequately monitored and reported accurately.
• Provide executive management with a regular assessment of the market risk exposures and the risk profile of the Investments & Trading activities of the company.
• Deliver and maintain a strong, efficient control environment whereby adequate checks and controls ensure the accuracy of data reported to senior management.
• Support regulatory submissions relating to Market Risk metrics and ICAAP exercise.
• Lead engagement with Corporate Governance and Group Internal Audit teams to address policies, recommendations, and timely updates.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Finance or Economics.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in the banking sector, with at least 5 years in similar positions in Market Risk or Treasury Risk.
• Extensive experience in Market Risk Oversight within the Investment Banking industry.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Experience working with financial platforms such as Bloomberg and Reuters.
