About the Role
We are looking for a Wargame Designer to join our growing team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The initial role will be based in London, UK, while the simulation center is being constructed. In this role, you will be part of the Advanced Capabilities team, tasked with developing operationally relevant wargaming and training for clients across multiple regions, particularly working with EDGE and the Emirati Ministry of Defense. You will leverage the company's proprietary modeling and simulation tools and Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality software to create immersive wargames.

What You'll Do
- Research, design, and develop operationally relevant wargames within the Air Maneuver Dominance / Advanced Capabilities team, translating customer objectives and operational problems into structured, immersive wargames. You will own scenario design including operational context, orders of battle, friendly and adversary forces, objectives, timelines, and victory conditions.
- Run and facilitate in-depth multi-day Wargaming Exercises, serving as the lead designer and control cell for planning, preparation, execution, and recovery. You will drive gameplay, adjudicate outcomes, manage moves and injects, and adapt scenarios in real-time.
- Build and maintain a reusable library of wargame scenarios, models, and content in the company's M&S and AR/VR software, refining processes across Software, Hardware, Logistics, Growth, and Engineering teams for rapid configuration and scaling of exercises.
- Design and implement structured After-Action Reviews and user feedback loops to gather insights and improve scenarios, adjudication logic, and event delivery.
- Provide input to product and engineering teams to enhance features, models, and configurations that improve the company's wargaming, mission simulation, and Virtual Warfare products.
- Support end-users in understanding advanced warfare concepts through development of wargame content and integration into existing systems.
- Develop and contribute to an Advanced Capabilities team with cross-functional representation, ensuring continuous improvement in wargame design and delivery across various scales.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience designing, developing, and running wargames or operational training scenarios across diverse clients and environments while providing excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both internally and externally, across various business lines and teams.
- Experience with scenario design, complex problem-solving, proactive planning, and troubleshooting to assure a seamless customer experience.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a country background check and security clearance for potentially classified exercises.
- Willingness to travel, work in the UAE, and collaborate with teammates in the UK and USA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and building wargames or simulations in government or civilian software such as AFSIM, SIMDIS, DCS, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with military operations and tactics for both friendly and adversary forces.
- Proficiency with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Slack, Quip, MS Office, and Zoom.
- Ability to build trust with clients and teammates under stressful conditions.
- Prior military or government experience in wargaming, operational planning, or exercise design.
