The company is seeking a skilled Websphere Administrator with proven experience, specifically in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) v9.0.5.x and later. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, and related components
- Deployment of Java EE applications, configuring resources (JDBC, JMS), and managing JVM tuning
- Monitoring system performance, tuning WebSphere runtime, and ensuring high availability
- Diagnosing and resolving server, application, and connectivity issues using logs and admin tools
- Configuring security roles, SSL, permissions, and enforcing compliance
- Development and maintenance of backup, recovery, and failover strategies
- Applying patches, fix packs, and version upgrades
- Creating scripts (Jython, Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks
- Maintaining procedures, architecture diagrams, and troubleshooting guides

Primary Skills:
- Understanding of servlets, EJBs, JSP, JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, JAAS
- Experience with Linux, UNIX, Windows Server
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL, firewalls, load balancing
- Familiarity with IHS, Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat, MQ

The candidate should have secondary expertise in IBM MQ, including:
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of MQ queue managers, channels, listeners, and MQ objects
- Designing and managing queue manager networks, clustering, and distributed queue management
- Monitoring queue depth, performance, and message flow; resolving connectivity and system errors
- Identifying bottlenecks, tuning MQ parameters, and integrating monitoring tools like AppDynamics or Dynatrace
- Implementing SSL/TLS, authentication, authorization, and secure messaging protocols
- Developing backup strategies, DR plans, and ensuring high-availability configurations
- Planning and executing MQ upgrades, applying patches, and migrating MQ objects
- Maintaining configuration records, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides
- Collaborating with application, networking, OS, and storage teams for seamless message flow
Requirements for Secondary Skills on MQ:
- Strong experience with MQ installation, configuration, and MQSC commands
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS for message transport
- Proficiency in Linux/UNIX environments
- Ability to automate tasks using shell scripts or integration tools
- Familiarity with IBM Integration Bus, WebSphere Message Broker
- Experience with MQ clustering, distributed queue management, and high-availability architectures
- Certification in IBM Certified System Administrator – MQ
