Welding Engineer

About the Role
The senior welding engineer is responsible for developing and ensuring the implementation of fabrication activities for a given project. This role requires adherence to industry and company standards, as well as the project execution plan and installation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer and industrial specifications to develop effective manufacturing execution procedures.
• Provide technical support to the production team and functional operation groups to streamline process flow.
• Enhance cost-effectiveness in manufacturing by seeking improvements in current processes.
• Maintain and develop new welding procedures as needed.
• Conduct design reviews with product design teams to optimize manufacturing costs.
• Develop local weld instructions to streamline processes.
• Support and participate in supplier audits as required.
• Endorse welder qualifications and certifications.
• Ensure compliance with industrial codes and practices related to welding.
• Engage in auditing practices to ensure adherence to codes and specifications.
• Contribute to discussions regarding technical issues and lessons learned within the department.
• Show commitment to quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) initiatives.
• Support tender and product engineering quotation activities.

You Are Meant For This Job If
A. Required Knowledge/Formal Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering or equivalent.

B. Required Experience:

• Generally, 3 years of relevant industry experience.

C. Required Technical Skills and/or Problem-Solving Skills:

• Knowledge of welding processes and industrial codes, including API 6A, ISO 3834, ASME IX, and NACE MR0175.
