What You’ll Be Doing
- Design wet utility systems, including potable water networks, fire-fighting networks, sewerage, and stormwater systems, manholes, chambers, appurtenances, pumping stations, wet wells, and storage/tank facilities.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.
- Develop hydraulic models to analyze and optimize system performance.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project requirements.
- Perform calculations for pipe sizing, flow rates, pressure losses, and system capacities.
- Evaluate environmental and topographical data to ensure proper system integration.
- Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
- Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, codes, and standards.
- Collaborate closely with architects, urban planners, and other engineering disciplines.
- Identify and resolve design challenges or site-specific issues during the design and construction phases.
- Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Follow company QA/QC procedures, design checklists, and document control protocols.
- Assist senior engineers in defining design scope and project submissions.
- Contribute to risk assessments and design decisions with a focus on safety, operability, and maintainability.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering consultancy environment, with a focus on wet utilities/infrastructure design.
- Proven experience with UAE/GCC projects; direct Abu Dhabi authority experience is highly preferred.
- Membership or progress toward membership in a professional institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, ASCE) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in:
- Hydraulic modeling: WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, EPANET.
- CAD/BIM: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infrawizard.
- Office tools: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint for calculations and reporting.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Master’s degree in Water Resources, Hydraulics, or Environmental Engineering is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Abu Dhabi Utility Infrastructure Design Manuals and authority submission procedures.
- Knowledge of international standards such as AWWA, BS/EN, ISO for water and wastewater systems.
- Experience in designing both gravity and pressurized systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a collegiate, team-player attitude.
- Good design coordination skills with other disciplines.

Contract and Travel Details
This position will be based in Abu Dhabi with travel as necessary to project sites and meetings.
