Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Windows Server platforms (Active Directory, ADFS, GPOs, DNS, DHCP) and lead VMware ESXi/vCenter (or Hyper-V) virtualization environments.
- Drive automation for patching, provisioning, monitoring, and compliance checks using PowerShell, Ansible, SCCM/WSUS, and PowerCLI.
- Optimize resource utilization (DRS/HA) and lead disaster recovery failover/failback exercises for virtual workloads (RP4VM), ensuring robust backup and recovery solutions.
- Implement security baselines (e.g., CIS), manage vulnerability remediations, and ensure system lifecycle compliance with standards like NDMO and NCA.
- Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents across Windows and virtual environments and mentor L1/L2 team members.
- Oversee integration of virtualization with storage, network overlays, and backup solutions (e.g., Commvault).
- Maintain comprehensive documentation (CMDB integrity, runbooks, VM lifecycle).
Requirements:
- Advanced experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, ADFS, GPO, DNS, DHCP.
- Deep experience in VMware (vSphere, vCenter, SRM, RP4VM) or Hyper-V, including virtual networking and storage mapping.
- Highly proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, PowerCLI) and tools like SCCM/WSUS.
- Strong understanding of system hardening, ITSM, and compliance frameworks (NDMO, NCA).
- Familiarity with hybrid environments.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of combined experience in Windows Server and virtualization engineering.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Microsoft equivalent (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate) preferred.
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
