Essential Job Functions:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Windows Server platforms (Active Directory, ADFS, GPOs, DNS, DHCP) and lead VMware ESXi/vCenter or Hyper-V and Nutanix virtualization environments.
- Drive automation for patching, provisioning, monitoring, and compliance checks using PowerShell, Ansible, SCCM/WSUS, and PowerCLI. Optimize resource utilization.
- Lead disaster recovery (DR) failover/failback exercises for virtual workloads and represent the Windows domain in DR tests, ensuring robust backup and recovery solutions.
- Implement security baselines (e.g., CIS), manage vulnerability remediations, and ensure system lifecycle compliance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents across Windows and virtual environments, and mentor L1/L2 team members.
- Oversee integration of virtualization with storage, network overlays, and backup solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including CMDB integrity and runbooks.
Required Skills:
- Advanced experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, ADFS, GPO, DNS, DHCP.
- Deep experience in Nutanix and VMware, including virtual networking and storage mapping.
- Highly proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, PowerCLI) and tools like SCCM/WSUS.
- Strong understanding of system hardening, ITSM, and compliance frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of combined experience in Windows Server and virtualization engineering.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Microsoft equivalent preferred; ITIL Foundation is also preferred.
