Your Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical lead, approving design deliverables and reviewing all project documents for conformity, safety, and quality assurance.
  • Anticipate and solve crucial issues or unique conditions.
  • Serve as a specialist in advanced concepts and methods, completing engineering assignments for your discipline.
  • Collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Work with customers to shape and deliver solutions, seeking feedback to drive improvements.
  • Finalize key concepts as part of Kick-off and design freeze meetings.
  • Participate in project meetings, resolving outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations.
  • Assist in preparing proposals/presentations for engineering projects/programs.
  • Apply Design Thinking / Design for Excellence concepts in projects, including modeling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
  • Perform project peer-reviews and utilize checklists to verify designs according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
  • Actively contribute and share experiences in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes.
  • Coach engineering colleagues on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation while sharing best practices and lessons learned.
  • Develop, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and tools, ensuring compliance with required safety regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Assess and address technical risks and opportunities, reporting any issues to Project Managers with recommendations for resolution.
  • Ensure the Bill of Material (BOM) meets contractual obligations and project gross margin requirements.
  • Identify and implement variation requests to support contract claims as approved by Project Managers.
  • Create work plans and cost estimates for projects, ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Prepare RFQs to meet contractual requirements and provide technical evaluations of suppliers’ proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain function, Project Managers, and participate in manufacturing and testing processes.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work and projects according to customer orders and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree.
  • Overall understanding of networking and cybersecurity systems, combined with automation systems knowledge.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in industrial networking and cybersecurity solutions for control systems, preferably with onshore and/or offshore oil and gas customers.
  • Customer interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing Operational Technology (OT) network solutions for control systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and frameworks, focusing on OT environments, and familiarity with OT-specific cybersecurity standards such as ISA/IEC 62443.
  • Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network segmentation in industrial settings.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial switches, routers, and protocols.
  • CCNA (R&S/Security) and CCNP (R&S/Security) certifications.
  • Proficiency in control systems and cybersecurity solutions such as McAfee ePO or similar, and industrial firewalls.
