About the Role
This role will contribute to the development of industry-leading AI software using cutting-edge research breakthroughs. As a software engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, launching, and deploying code in an innovative and fast-paced environment, with roles spanning both platform and project/product development. You will prioritize long-term maintainability in software and infrastructure while engaging in prototyping and live experimentation. Moreover, you will work towards enhancing user quality metrics, maintaining signals, models, and infrastructure.
Operating with speed and scale, our software and ML engineers are in the early stages of development, and as a core member of the founding team, you will have the opportunity to shape the organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, launch, and land code.
- Take full ownership of features from conception to launch.
- Engage in coding, including prototyping, iterating on search quality, and maintaining signals, models, and infrastructure.
- Collect and analyze the performance of features and platforms, assessing reliability, latency, customer engagement, and machine learning training data.
- Collaborate with domain experts, UX designers, and project managers to translate organizational needs into technical decisions while considering resource constraints.
- Help organizations adopt industry best practices across design, development, infrastructure, security, privacy, and software maintenance.
About You
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
- 3 years of experience with AI, data structures, or algorithms.
- Experience with frontend or backend web development, data engineering, analysis, data science, machine learning, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or cloud architecture.
- Proficiency in programming languages including but not limited to: Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, PHP, and SQL.
Preferred Experience:
- A Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Strong design and implementation skills, with a drive to debug and resolve ambiguous issues.
- A passion for quality and customer focus, alongside a willingness to work outside of your comfort zone.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and effectively communicate in ambiguous situations.
