This team keeps the cloud running, ensuring that customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other key roles to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing ample capacity at minimal costs for our customers.

The Data Center Community seeks a proven leader to join our data center operations organization in the UAE as a Data Center Operations Cluster Manager. In this senior management role, you will lead a large organization and manage managers who oversee data center infrastructure, focusing on the operational availability of network and server systems at scale. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of data center IT infrastructure and AWS capabilities.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Center Operations Managers, focusing on all aspects of people, performance, career, and technical management.
  • Manage Data Center Operations (DCO) within both Amazon Data Centers and third-party colocation facilities, including risk management and critical infrastructure metric reporting.
  • Achieve organizational performance goals related to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of data center operations.
  • Ensure compliance with security and safety policies and procedures.
  • Be accountable for meeting and exceeding operational goals.
  • Innovate and drive automation, and continuously improve operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
  • Develop, improve, and share operational best practices globally.
  • Oversee hiring, management, and development of the operations management team, which includes data center managers and technicians.
  • Plan and execute the infrastructure operations components of new AWS data center build-outs and expansions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering discipline.
  • People management experience in 24/7 mission-critical operations.
  • Experience with computer components, operating systems, and direct data center work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Experience managing managers.
