Position

Senior Network Engineer is a pivotal role within the Network Operations Group, demanding advanced expertise in securing computer networks and managing critical applications within the engineering department. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer (Security) to join our Network Operations department. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies, along with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with the Network Analyst Manager, the Network Security Engineer plays a key role in shaping Disaster Recovery Plans and Procedures.
  • Designing and maintaining intricate network documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Contributing to configurations, upgrades, and deployments, and providing strategic guidance on network evolution and capacity planning.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions to protect the organization's infrastructure against internal and external threats.
  • Conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address security vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
  • Enforcing network security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Monitoring network traffic for suspicious activities and security breaches and taking appropriate actions to mitigate risks and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into network infrastructure designs and configurations.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to junior members of the network security team, including mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Staying current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies, and recommending appropriate countermeasures and solutions.
  • Participating in incident response activities, including investigating security incidents, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, and implementing remediation actions.
  • Assisting in the evaluation and selection of security products, tools, and services to support the organization's security objectives.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on network security matters, providing expertise and guidance to internal teams and external clients as needed.
  • Carrying out any other duties as needed to support the daily operations of the Engineering and Intra Departments as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and architectures, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies, such as Nmap, Nessus, Metasploit, and OWASP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex security issues.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network security engineering or a related role.
  • Proficiency in network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, SIEM, DLP, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with network infrastructure devices such as routers, switches, and load balancers.
