This is an opportunity to lead a field engineering team at Canonical, helping customers understand and implement Canonical's open source solutions in public clouds and their own data centers. The role involves working across a range of cloud offerings, including Ubuntu, virtualization, Kubernetes, and sophisticated open source solutions.
As a Cloud Field Engineering Manager, you will oversee the team of cloud solutions architects, designing private and public cloud solutions that fit customer workload needs. The role requires hands-on involvement with technologies and participation in technical presales to provide advice during the sales process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a diverse team of Field Engineers.
- Promoting Canonical's technologies as a trusted advisor to solve customer problems.
- Implementing disciplined engineering processes and measuring team health indicators.
- Collaborating with stakeholders, partners, and customers to represent your team and product effectively.
Location: Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, remote work, managing a team in your time zone. Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time for internal and external tech events and customer meetings.
Language Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. A second language, such as Spanish or French, is preferred.
Candidate Profile:

- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, including Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ceph.
- Practical experience with Linux and networking.
- Experience in technical presales.
- A dynamic personality with a passion for developing and mentoring team members.
- An organized approach to delivering high-quality results.
Additional Skills:
- Python knowledge is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with external partners and providing stakeholder feedback for engineering roadmaps.
