Position

This is an opportunity to lead a Professional Services team (Field Engineering) at Canonical, focusing on helping customers understand and implement Canonical's open source solutions in public clouds and within their own data centers. The role encompasses a wide range of cloud offerings, from Ubuntu to private cloud, Kubernetes, and sophisticated open source solutions like MLops and data platforms.

As a Cloud Professional Services Manager, you will be an integral part of the Field Engineering team, working directly with customers to design and implement private and public cloud solutions tailored to their needs. This includes solutions such as Openstack, MicroCloud, Ceph, and Kubernetes, among others. You will also engage in presales conversations, providing technical guidance to support the sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, from graduate to senior levels.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
  • Implement and uphold disciplined engineering processes.
  • Represent your team and products to stakeholders and customers.
  • Collaborate actively with leadership and other teams.
  • Participate in technical presales to meet department goals.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, including Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ceph.
  • Practical experience with Linux and networking.
  • Background in technical presales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Spanish or French is preferred.
  • Proven track record in developing and mentoring engineers.
  • Organized with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time for internal events, customer meetings, and conferences.
