Canonical is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems to global enterprise and technology markets, known for its flagship platform, Ubuntu. This role involves being part of the Alliances team to assist major partners such as Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, and Tata in understanding and adopting our open-source platform for their needs and those of their customers.
As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will engage with our worldwide field engineering team to apply expert insights to real-world customer challenges, promoting enterprise adoption of technologies like Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and AI/MLOps. Your role includes business problem-solving and effectively communicating with customers across different industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in practical environments.
- Design cloud infrastructure solutions using Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark in both on-premises and public cloud settings (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Architect and integrate open-source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and NGINX.
- Assist partners in creating joint solutions utilizing Canonical technologies.
- Design and publish joint reference architectures, providing technical validations with various partners.
- Conduct onboarding sessions and workshops to promote Canonical products and solutions.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience with Linux (preferably Ubuntu), Kubernetes, Ceph, and software automation.
- Proficiency in designing solutions on public or private cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Python and Bash, along with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High motivation with the ability to multi-task and reliably follow up on commitments.
- Interest in customer-facing engagements, including pitching and demonstrating solutions.
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field.
