Position

We are building community management at scale and have multiple positions available across different seniority levels. The Community team at Canonical coordinates with community leaders and participants to facilitate community work, ensuring efficient processes and supporting community initiatives with technical and organizational skills.

As a Community Engineer, you will design, execute, and scale initiatives that foster a thriving community. This role is ideal for a technically proficient individual who is passionate about open source software, Linux, and community building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality content to promote and support community initiatives.
  • Collaborate and discuss solutions to community problems.
  • Engage with the Ubuntu community through various platforms, including Discourse, Matrix, and social media.
  • Represent Ubuntu at events and conferences.
  • Manage relationships with volunteer developers, ensuring their success and the sustainability of projects.
  • Provide technical support and content to keep the community engaged and informed.

Work Conditions:

  • Fully remote role open to candidates globally.
  • Work from home with the possibility of global travel 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events.

Language Requirements:
