The Community team at Canonical coordinates with community leaders and participants to facilitate community work, ensuring efficient processes and supporting community initiatives with technical and organizational skills.
As a Community Engineer, you will design, execute, and scale initiatives that foster a thriving community. This role is ideal for a technically proficient individual who is passionate about open source software, Linux, and community building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write high-quality content to promote and support community initiatives.
- Collaborate and discuss solutions to community problems.
- Engage with the Ubuntu community through various platforms, including Discourse, Matrix, and social media.
- Represent Ubuntu at events and conferences.
- Manage relationships with volunteer developers, ensuring their success and the sustainability of projects.
- Provide technical support and content to keep the community engaged and informed.
Work Conditions:
- Fully remote role open to candidates globally.
- Work from home with the possibility of global travel 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events.
Language Requirements:

- Experience in open source projects and familiarity with developer tools.
