About the Job:
Canonical is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems for global enterprise and technology markets, notably through its platform, Ubuntu. The company is committed to supporting community initiatives and is seeking a Community Engineer to facilitate the Ubuntu community’s work. Your role will include coordinating with Canonical teams to ensure efficient community processes, fostering community contributions, engaging with developers, and providing support and content that keeps the community informed.
In this role, you'll engage with volunteer developers in the Ubuntu community, addressing concerns and aiding in successful project developments. You will also be responsible for creating regular content for blogs and social media regarding community initiatives and accomplishments. Representing community interests to Canonical teams and communicating effectively with developers will be key aspects of this job. Participation in conferences and technical discussions will also be part of the role.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about open-source software, Linux, and community building, with a background in DevOps, software development, or QA. Technical proficiency with Linux is essential.
