Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets, with Ubuntu being widely used in public cloud, data science, AI, and more. We are seeking a Dedicated Services Engineer to support our customers in Saudi Arabia by maintaining and optimizing private cloud infrastructure. This role requires direct collaboration with clients to diagnose and resolve technical issues, providing expert guidance and ensuring smooth operation.

To succeed, you should believe in automation as a software engineering problem and be driven by metrics and code. You will work within a site reliability engineer team using Python software engineering skills to operate at scale, from bare metal to application.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain clients' private cloud infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of the cloud services.
  • Work independently in a customer-facing, on-site role.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting and Python software development.
  • Operational experience and troubleshooting expertise in Linux environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with OpenStack or Kubernetes deployment or operations.
  • Familiarity with public or private cloud management.
