Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in breakthrough enterprise initiatives including public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We are hiring Embedded Linux Consultants to support mission-critical industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Consumer Electronics.

Successful candidates will be accomplished Linux plumbers with a passion for Linux, proficiency in containerization, system debugging, and familiarity with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to deliver tailored solutions to clients.

Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote (willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences)
Location: Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Remote)

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology.
  • Elaborate on solutions to propose to prospective clients.
  • Participate in the delivery of projects related to Embedded Linux.
  • Serve as a customer advocate and trusted advisor to Canonical.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot, or RTOS).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Professional written and spoken English; proficiency in the local language is required for positions in Japan and Korea.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Result-oriented with the ability to multitask.
