Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, with its platform, Ubuntu, widely used in various enterprise initiatives, including public cloud, AI, and IoT. We are seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineer to support our mission-critical industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices, and Consumer Electronics. Successful candidates will possess extensive Linux knowledge, particularly in embedded systems, along with proficiency in containerization and system debugging. The role will engage with customers during presales, propose solutions, and participate in project delivery while advocating for clients' needs within our organization. Field engineers are expected to provide informed responses to customer inquiries about our technology and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to gather requirements and explain technology.
  • Propose solutions to prospective clients.
  • Deliver projects related to Embedded Linux.
  • Convey market requirements to stakeholders.
  • Act as both a customer advocate and a trusted advisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Extensive experience with Linux, preferably Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Solid experience in embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot, RTOS).
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Professional written and spoken English and fluency in Chinese at a professional level.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet commitments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for client meetings and events.
