Position

We’re seeking to make Ceph easy to install and manage, accommodating the ever-growing data storage demands.

As an Engineering Manager for Ceph & Distributed Storage, your role will go beyond technical expertise; it involves guiding and developing your team to achieve outstanding work while fostering a collaborative and growth-focused environment. In this position, you’ll be responsible for software architecture and best practices in software quality, testing, and documentation.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a team to develop a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution.
  • Manage a globally distributed team of engineers.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Contribute directly to your team's goals by applying sound engineering principles.
  • Set reasonable schedules and manage expectations with engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for agile software development practices.
  • Foster a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
  • Collaborate with other leaders within the organization.

Who You Are:

  • You possess a software engineering background with experience in Python and C++.
  • Familiar with operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux in production environments, preferably with Ceph.
  • Passionate about new technologies and improving product operations.
  • Experienced in mentoring and coaching software developers to deliver high-quality software.
  • Proficient in agile development methodologies.

Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is likely required, considering the global nature of the role and collaboration.
