As an Engineering Manager for Ceph & Distributed Storage, your role will go beyond technical expertise; it involves guiding and developing your team to achieve outstanding work while fostering a collaborative and growth-focused environment. In this position, you’ll be responsible for software architecture and best practices in software quality, testing, and documentation.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team to develop a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution.
- Manage a globally distributed team of engineers.
- Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.
- Contribute directly to your team's goals by applying sound engineering principles.
- Set reasonable schedules and manage expectations with engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Advocate for agile software development practices.
- Foster a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with other leaders within the organization.
Who You Are:
- You possess a software engineering background with experience in Python and C++.
- Familiar with operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux in production environments, preferably with Ceph.
- Passionate about new technologies and improving product operations.
- Experienced in mentoring and coaching software developers to deliver high-quality software.
- Proficient in agile development methodologies.
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in English is likely required, considering the global nature of the role and collaboration.
