Your key responsibilities will include developing and reviewing code to keep the team unblocked, helping team members grow personally and professionally, positively influencing company culture, and collaborating with other Engineering Managers, product managers, and architects to create an ambitious engineering roadmap. You will conduct one-on-one meetings, monitor team health indicators, and mentor direct reports.

This is a full-time remote position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with global travel required for 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events.

You will need a strong understanding of the machine learning domain along with experience in designing and implementing MLOps solutions. An exceptional academic record and a willingness to travel are also necessary.

While not mandatory, additional skills that may benefit you in this role include:

  • Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries or tools.
  • Experience in building automated machine learning solutions for the cloud.
  • Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, LXD, Kubernetes) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • A background in Linux and open-source software development.
  • A passion for software quality and testing, along with experience in distributed teams or open-source contributions.

Fluency in English is expected given the nature of the role and company.

Canonical offers a competitive compensation package with annual reviews and performance-driven bonuses, along with a remote work environment that includes biannual in-person team sprints. You will receive a personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year as well as benefits like maternity/paternity leave, an Employee Assistance Program, and travel opportunities.
