Position

Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We serve customers that include top public cloud and silicon providers, as well as industry leaders across many sectors.

We are hiring a Junior Cloud Field Engineer to assist global companies in adopting the latest private cloud infrastructure, Linux, cloud native operations, and open source applications. Responsibilities include designing private and public cloud solutions to meet customer workload needs, deploying and testing technologies like Linux Ubuntu, OpenStack, and Kubernetes, and working closely with customers for seamless project handover.

Responsibilities:

  • Work across the entire Linux stack, from kernel and networking to applications
  • Use Python to design and deliver open source code
  • Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, Hadoop, and Spark
  • Coach and develop colleagues
  • Foster a collaborative engineering culture

Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science or related software engineering expertise
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ceph
  • Practical knowledge of Linux and networking
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Python programming skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; proficiency in a second language is optional
