We are seeking a Lead Golang Software Engineer who is committed to high engineering quality, continuous improvement, and skill development. This position offers the opportunity to engage with popular software systems and exciting open-source solutions. The Commercial Systems unit at Canonical comprises seven engineering teams that collaborate on essential services for the business. Golang is integral to the services we develop.
The role involves:
- Developing engineering solutions leveraging Golang
- Leading technical designs, code reviews, and implementations
- Deploying and operating services developed by the team
- Coaching, mentoring, and providing career development feedback to colleagues
- Advocating for great engineering and organizational practices
What We Are Looking For:
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
- Proven track record of going above and beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results
- Experience in software development in Golang
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
- Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events lasting up to two weeks
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Performance engineering and security experience
- Experience with accounting, sales, or sales operations
