Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, well-known for its platform, Ubuntu, which is widely utilized in enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. As an integral member of our team, you will have the opportunity to support customers by addressing their technical needs related to Ubuntu and other open source products.

Your role as a Linux Engineer/Administrator will involve delivering exceptional technical support across the full Desktop and Server technical stack. You will manage your own cases, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and collaborate with colleagues and senior engineers as needed. Successful candidates will be excellent communicators with a passion for technology and a desire to evolve professionally.

Location: Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Remote)

Work Conditions: Full-time, remote role with participation in a regular weekend working rotation. The role requires the ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events lasting up to two weeks long.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve complex customer issues related to Canonical’s product portfolio.
  • Ensure timely handling of support cases in line with Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Engage directly with customers through various channels to address their concerns.
  • Contribute to and maintain knowledge base articles to facilitate shared learning.
  • Stay informed about Ubuntu development processes to manage customer expectations effectively.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Professional written and spoken English with strong presentation skills.
  • An exceptional academic record, ideally with an undergraduate degree in a technical field or a compelling alternative path.
  • Experience in Linux troubleshooting and integration with various environments.
  • Ability to navigate stack traces and logs effectively.
  • A commitment to achieving outstanding customer support results.
  • Programming fundamentals in any language.

Language Requirements:

  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
