Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in areas such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We serve some of the world’s leading public cloud and silicon providers.

This position is for a Linux Engineer/Administrator who is passionate about Linux and customer success. You will support the technical needs of customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products. The role will require you to deliver outstanding technical support on both Desktop and Server technical stacks. You will own and manage customer cases, from problem qualification to resolution, involving colleagues or senior engineers as needed.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Investigating issues reported by customers and escalating as necessary.
  • Resolving complex problems related to Canonical's portfolio of products.
  • Ensuring high customer satisfaction by managing support cases according to our Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Engaging directly with customers through various communication channels.
  • Participating in a regular weekend working rotation.
  • Contributing to knowledge base articles to ensure shared knowledge for customers.

Location: Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Remote)

Language Requirements:

  • Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional academic record, preferably with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject.
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and integration with other environments (authentication/directory services, network file systems).
  • Ability to analyze stack traces and logs and advise on next steps.
  • Strong understanding of OS and Application-level bugs, with an inclination to escalate when necessary.
  • Programming fundamentals in any language.
  • Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for company events.
