As part of our team, you will contribute to back-end REST API microservices engineering using Go and Python, covering all levels of seniority. We are looking for outstanding engineers with strong views on APIs, microservice design, engineering processes, and DevOps practices. Your work will help us scale services to support millions of Ubuntu clients and ensure critical infrastructure health globally.
Key areas of interest include API design and governance, database performance, multi-region service delivery, proactive security analysis techniques, and next-generation DevOps practices.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
- Write high-quality, robust software that works at scale.
- Design APIs and software architecture for collegial review.
- Write tests to validate software behavior.
- Build and maintain reliable, fault-tolerant applications and services.
- Collaborate proactively with a globally distributed team.
- Display technical leadership internally and within external communities.
- Debug issues and produce high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation.
- Participate in cross-team discussions and collaborations.
What We Are Looking For:
- An exceptional academic track record.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling alternative path.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go.
- Experience with relational and non-relational database systems.
- Continuous integration and delivery experience.
- Familiarity with systems programming or scalable web services.
- Professional written and spoken English.
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication.
Additional Skills That You Might Also Bring:
- Experience with container technology (LXD, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of build systems and toolchains.

- Knowledge in performance engineering and security.
