Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. We are seeking an MLOps Field Engineer to assist global companies in adopting AI/ML within their businesses, leveraging the latest open source capabilities on public and private cloud infrastructure, Linux, and Kubernetes. This role is best suited for MLOps engineers who enjoy engaging with customers to solve problems, particularly during the presales cycle.

Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote, with global travel expected up to 30% of the time for internal and external events and customer meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design private and public cloud solutions tailored to customer workload needs.
  • Deploy, test, and transition solutions to support or managed services teams post-project.
  • Develop Kubernetes operators and Linux open source infrastructure-as-code using Python.
  • Collect customer business requirements and advise on Ubuntu and relevant open source applications.
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations of Ubuntu Pro and AI/ML capabilities to clients.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to achieve common objectives.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative path.
  • Experience in data engineering, MLOps, or big data solutions deployment.
  • Proficiency in a relevant programming language, such as Python, R, or Rust.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to exchange feedback and share ideas.
  • Practical knowledge of Linux, virtualization, containers, and networking.
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts, specifically Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Intermediate Python programming skills, with a passion for technology.

Language Requirements:

  • Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
