The role involves joining the Workplace Engineering team, which specializes in web architecture and analytics. The team is responsible for building new tools, dashboards, and analytics to empower colleagues, managers, and executives to make better decisions and deliver improved work outcomes. \n\nKey Responsibilities: \n- Design and deliver web-based systems and SaaS solutions. \n- Provide insights into the Canonical workplace experience. \n- Enable new processes and improve existing workflows. \n- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team. \n- Write high-quality code to develop new features and debug existing issues. \n- Conduct consistent code reviews for other engineers. \n- Discuss ideas and collaboratively find good solutions. \n- Estimate work, set goals, and meet completion criteria. \n- Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to junior team members. \n- Connect to various data sources and offer insightful visualizations. \n- Design database architecture for connected systems. \n- Develop new and improved working practices for the company. \n\nWho You Are: \nTo succeed in this team, you should be proficient in two or more of the following areas: \n- Backend web service programming in Python and Node.js. \n- Solid understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. \n- Data analytics and statistical analysis. \n- Natural language processing, sentiment analysis, and machine learning. \n- Data visualization. \n\nThe ideal candidate will have a passion for experimentation and analytics, focusing on optimizing processes and working across Canonical.
