The Workplace Engineering team at Canonical is a high-performing group specializing in web architecture and analytics. This position involves building new tools, dashboards, and analytics to empower colleagues, managers, and executives in decision-making and improving work processes.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver web-based systems and SAAS solutions.
- Provide insights into the Canonical workplace experience.
- Enable new processes and improve workflows.
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
- Write high-quality code for new features and debug existing ones.
- Conduct thorough code reviews for peers.
- Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to junior team members.
- Connect to various data sources and produce insightful visualizations.
- Manage database design and architecture for connected systems.
- Develop new and improved working practices for the company.
Who You Are:
To be successful in this role, candidates should be experts in two or more of the following areas:
- Backend web service programming in Python and Node.js.
- Understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Data analytics and statistical analysis.
- Natural language processing, sentiment analysis, or machine learning.
- Data visualization.
