Position

Canonical is enabling high-performing, rock-solid MongoDB deployments on any cloud or platform chosen by our customers. We aim to create the world's best open-source alternative to MongoDB Atlas or Amazon DocumentDB, which can be owned, controlled, and operated by end-users on their multi-cloud or on-premise environments.

We are seeking an experienced Python developer with a background in MongoDB to help build a fully managed MongoDB solution based on Juju. The goal is to develop the most reliable and secure method to deploy and operate MongoDB across machines, VMs, public cloud, and Kubernetes. As a member of a small MongoDB team, you will be a key contributor, making a significant impact on the product and the broader ecosystem.

Who You Are:

  • Passionate about technology and collaboration with talented colleagues.
  • An accomplished senior Python programmer with experience in mission-critical projects.
  • Experienced in operating and managing MongoDB clusters.
  • Knowledgeable in modern infrastructure deployment automation or traditional Linux systems administration, operations, and package management.
  • Committed to maintaining high-quality standards and automatic testing.

At Canonical, we have fostered a remote-first culture since 2004, providing a competitive salary, flexibility to work and live where you choose, and the opportunity to engage exclusively in meaningful open-source projects. We are dedicated to diversity and inclusion, valuing the varied experiences and perspectives that contribute to a better environment for our employees and a better platform for our users and customers.
