As a Software Engineer - L3 Support, you will work in a dynamic role within Linux-based infrastructure and applications, addressing issues across various layers of the stack, including bare metal, virtualization (KVM), containerization (Docker/LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph, Linux filesystems), networking (OVS, OVN), OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open source applications.

Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes, as well as developing bug fixes and engaging with upstream communities.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu and other relevant technologies.
- Maintain close working relationships with Canonical's Field, Support, and product engineering teams.
- Participate in upstream communities and contribute code and bug fixes.
- Prioritize and manage workload effectively.
- Communicate technical issues clearly and concisely.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional academic background in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
- Experience with Linux and open source software.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
- A willingness to learn new technologies and take on challenging problems.
- Ability to travel occasionally for team meetings and events (up to 10% of the time).
