In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing tools and technologies for building and maintaining a new generation of container images.
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality container images while maintaining a seamless Ubuntu user experience.
- Implementing and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery automation for container images.
- Contributing to projects like Rocks (OCI images) and Chisel, participating in exploratory tasks, and providing critical feedback for decision-making processes.
- Mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities:
- Build robust, scalable, leading-edge container images.
- Work on automated CI/CD processes for building, testing, and publishing container images.
- Write tools and tests for assessing security compliance and cloud-native compatibility.
- Engage with the open-source community as a subject-matter expert.
- Provide technical feedback for decision-making within the team.
- Grow knowledge bases and write documentation.
- Collaborate in a globally distributed team.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong knowledge and passion for software development.
- Experience in collaborative development and CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with container images and operations; familiarity with at least one container management/orchestration tool (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Significant experience with Python and Linux systems administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
